God is the Revealer of mysteries. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream nearly sees the death of all the wise men. Daniel is able to outline and interpret the king’s dream because, “There is a God in heaven that reveals mysteries…”, not because of his own wisdom or supernatural powers.

Daniel: Sovereign - Leigh Roberts

Since Genesis we have heard of (and seen) God’s promise to make a people for Himself. He promises to be Israel’s God and give them a land and a future. Through His people will come a blessing to all the nations. But now it seems all under threat in 600BC. God’s many warnings about his “exile” were largely unheeded, but now tragically fulfilled. Are God’s plans for His covenant and His people now ended? Can God faithfully work out His sovereign plan through His people in tough circumstances?
